End-of-Year Reflections
Grades: 2-8
End-of-Year Reflections
Begin by sharing the objectives of the activity: to reflect on the school year, celebrate achievements, and set intentions for personal growth.
Provide students with prompts to guide their reflection process. Some prompts could include:
- What were your favorite memories from this school year?
- What were some challenges you faced, and how did you overcome them?
- What new skills or knowledge did you acquire?
- What is something you are proud of accomplishing?
- What is something you would like to improve upon next year?
Encourage students to respond to the prompts through writing, drawing, voice narration with the microphone or a talkie, or even a video recording, depending on their preferences for expression.
Students can get started with a blank page or one of the many reflection templates, such as:
- Mirror, Mirror Reflections
- 60-Second Writing Reflections
- Movie Premiere Reflections
- VideoShare Reflections
Students can also even utilize a variety of templates featuring talkies in the Reflections folder.
Once students have completed their reflections, gather them together using the Project Wizard to create a collaborative classroom display.
Invite students to share highlights from their reflections with the class, either orally or by reading aloud selected passages.
Conclude the activity by expressing gratitude for the school year and excitement for the future, emphasizing the value of reflection in fostering personal growth and resilience.
