Create Thank You Cards

Begin by discussing the concept of gratitude and why it's important to express thanks.

Then, read Mo Willems' Thank You aloud to your class, emphasizing the different ways Piggy expresses gratitude to his friends.

Engage students in a discussion about the story. Ask questions like:

  • How did Piggy show gratitude in the book?
  • Why is it important to say thank you?
  • When have you felt grateful, and why?

Let students know they will be creating thank you cards.

Students can use one of the many stationery templates or create their own using backgrounds, drawings, and text.

Encourage them to personalize the cards based on what they're thankful for or who they're expressing gratitude to for an extra special touch.

If time allows, encourage students to send their thank you cards digitally or print them out to give to someone they appreciate.
