Get certified to demonstrate your expertise and understanding of meaningful learning with Wixie.
To earn a Wixie Certified Educator badge, you need to demonstrate both technical and instructional expertise with Wixie. You will submit samples, reflections, lessons, and links using the Wixie Certified Educator Portfolio.
Step 1: Show technical expertise with Wixie's tools
Create a project based on one of these specific Creative Educator lessons. Follow the ideas in the lesson (you are welcome to modify for your learners) and create the project as if you were a student. All samples must include text, images, and voice narration. Write a paragraph reflecting on your experience with the lesson and using Wixie as a student.
Note: If you have already done one of the lessons listed on this Creative Educator page with your students, an acceptable alternative is to share a link to a sample of student work and its Public Key so we can view it.
Step 2: Write a Wixie lesson
Create a lesson plan using the Creative Educator model, including sections for Task, Engage, Create, Share, and Assessment. The lesson plan tasks should go beyond a recitation of facts and ask students to apply knowledge to solve a problem or create a solution.
Use this Wixie Certified Educator Portfolio to ensure you meet the lesson plan criteria.
Step 3: Create a Wixie assessment
Create an assessment for student work using Wixie’s assessment tools. Depending on the age of your students, you can create a rubric- or checklist-style assessment. Watch the following video if you are unfamiliar with Wixie's assessment tools.
Step 4: Create a high-quality example with an attached assessment
Create a high-quality example of a student product that meets your lesson’s assessment criteria. It would be ideal if the sample has been created in your classroom by an actual student, but we understand that instructional situations/availability may vary and delivering the lesson may not always be an option.
You must attach the assessment you created to your Wixie sample.
Step 5: Submit your work
The last page of the Wixie Certified Educator Portfolio includes the form you use to let us know you have completed your Wixie samples, lesson plan, and reflections necessary for certification. Our staff reviews new submissions at the end of each month and awards new certifications soon after.
You will receive an email and also need a Wixie Certified Educator badge at the top of your Wixie account!
