Get to know your students with 'all about me' activities
Kick off the school year by getting to know your students while helping them build essential digital skills for future projects.
Here are some fun AND educational "All About Me" activities using Wixie.
1. Create a custom profile image
Have students create custom profile images to personalize their learning experience while exploring and learning the paint tools in Wixie.
These images make it easier for you to visually locate students when viewing projects in your Students tab.

To get started, assign the Profile Image template to students.
2. Design a personal shield
Students can design a shield that represents themselves and their family, getting to know the tools and stickers.
After this project, students will have the skills necessary to create a coat of arms for a character in a story they are reading.
3. Jump in the Wixie photobooth
Assign the Photobooth template for students to capture their image and add props that tell you about their interests and passions.
The template includes a default image category full of digital props students can use to express their unique identities.
4. Create a comic
Comics are a fun and easy way for students to share information about themselves. Use the comic template to let students' creativity shine.
You can even find a Comics folder in the Design Templates library with a variety of comic panels students can use for future project work.
5. Write a book about yourself
Using the all about me multi-page book template, students can share information about themselves, their family, and their interests.
6. Video ID card
Students can create a video ID card to share their unique features and interests using the Student Identity Card template.
(Click the very tiny play button on the lower left of the video to watch it.)
7. Write a bio poem
Kick off the year with poetry and get to know your students by assigning the Bio Poem template.
For more poetry ideas, visit the Poetry folder in the Curriculum Activities library.
8. Design your own WANTED poster
Students can tap into their creativity by designing a Wanted poster that highlights their unique features, habits, and friends. This activity requires more than just digital skills; it also inspires student comprehension and vocabulary development.

9. Create an Arcimboldo-inspired self-portrait
Inspired by the Italian Renaissance painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo, students can create self-portraits using objects like fruit and books.
This project combines art with digital skills and can be tied to a writing assignment where students describe themselves or a friend using similes.
10. Share about yourself with a digital backpack
Students can use this digital backpack to share a little about themselves for back-to-school. Using the text, image, and paint tools, students can fill their backpacks with personal items that represent their interests and experiences.
This activity idea comes from Tech4Learning Innovative Educator, Dave Floyd, and is a great way to blend creativity with digital skills.
These activities not only help you learn more about your students but also equip them with valuable digital skills for future projects.
Try them out and watch your students' creativity and confidence grow!
