Describe the Weather Outside
Grades: PK-1
Describe the Weather Outside
Start by reviewing weather conditions like sunny, rainy, cloudy, and windy. Then, ask students to observe the current weather outside. You can prompt students with questions like:
- What do you see when you look outside?
- Is the sun shining brightly, or is the sky covered with clouds?
- Do you hear the rustling of leaves in the wind?
- How would the weather feel on your skin?
Encourage students to use their five senses when making their observations. Not only will this help them engage more deeply with the weather, it enhances their descriptive writing abilities.
Ask students to use descriptive writing to share what they observed outside. Students can use the Describe the Weather Outside activity to help direct their work.
