How do Cells Function Like Schools?
Learning about individual cells helps us better understand the infrastructure of the human body. But, knowing how the cells function together as a whole system gives us a better understanding of why each of the cells are important to prevent future diseases and keep us healthy.
Having students make cell analogies to a structure like a school, helps students make important personal connections and deeper understandings of how cells operate together to keep things running smoothly.
Assign the Cells Function - School template to have students compare how different parts of the cell (nucleus, chloroplast, mitochondria, cell wall, and cell membrane) function like staff and objects in a school environment.
